Kōtahitanga! Chalk that talk, walk that chalk!

Kōtahitanga! Chalk that talk, walk that chalk! highlights the value and effectiveness of Māori pedagogical philosophies in the context of Aotearoa New Zealand’s state schools. It aims at presenting Te Kōtahitanga, a professional development programme for teachers working in mainstream classrooms, as a model for inclusively teaching in a bi-cultural and multicultural school environment.
Matt Coldicutt graduated with a BAS from the Auckland School of Architecture in 2008, BFA(Hons) at Elam in 2010 and GradDipTchg at Auckland University’s Faculty of Education in 2011. He has taught Art at Onehunga High School, Tangaroa College and Western Springs College. At present he is teaching Design and Visual Communication full time at Auckland Grammar School, where he is a mentor in the Maori and Pasifika Academic Programme and manager of the Premier Basketball Team.
